In 1882 when Giacinto Becchetti started his first brassware forge in the famous Italian Valle Trompia, his workshop was powered by waterwheel. Guided by the family's philosophy - devotion to their work, care for every detail, and openness to new designs and methods - Angelo Becchetti modernized the factory, moved it to Lumezzane, and named it BAL ("Becchetti Angelo Lumezzane").

In the 120+ years since its founding, BAL has built a reputation for high quality production and an impressive collection of pieces. Their handles have embellished the doors of royal palaces, museums, hotels, and historic villas throughout Europe.
